October 22, 2026
Eight days after Hurricane Isaias came ashore near Destin, Seaside's town center was back on normal hours. The National Hurricane Center put landfall at 8:30 p.m. CDT on Friday, October 9, 2026, with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph. WJHG reported that same day that Seaside businesses were boarding windows and planning to close ahead of the storm. By Saturday, October 17, Seaside's homeowner rental office was posting that the town center and all businesses were open as usual.
The order of the recovery explains how this fall will run. The square came back first. The pools, the fitness center and Cabana Man followed. The last piece still unfinished is at the beach edge, where two pavilions remain closed. Every major event left on Seaside's 2026 calendar happens in Central Square or the Amphitheater. So the part of town that recovered fastest is the part carrying the season.
Seaside started a limited reopening on Monday, October 12. The town's own Instagram post asked visitors to check each merchant's hours and to use caution while crews kept clearing debris. Restaurants were open that first day. A 30A recovery tracker that logged reopenings from each business's own social posts recorded this sequence:
| Date | What reopened |
|---|---|
| Mon, Oct 12 | Seaside's limited reopening begins; Bud & Alley's and Bud & Alley's Taco Bar open with a limited menu; Pickles opens |
| Tue, Oct 13 | 'drome, Shrimp Shack, The Meltdown and The Seaside Style reopen |
| Sat, Oct 17 | Town center and all businesses on normal hours; all three pools, the Fitness Center and Cabana Man back on regular schedules |
The first two openings sit right on the roadside edge of the square. Pizza Bar now shares Bud & Alley's flagship building with Taco Bar. 30A.com notes that Pickle's Burger & Shakes has been a Seaside fixture since 1993. On the second day, the openings reached The Meltdown on Airstream Row and The Seaside Style, the town's own lifestyle brand. Airstream Row also has a newer neighbor, Wild Nectar, the juice and bowls stand from Kolbi Amos and Hayden Shaw, which opened in May. It sits at 2235 E County Hwy 30A.
Shared amenities came back next. As of October 17, the West Side Pool, the Adult Pool and the Family Pool had all returned to regular hours, and the Fitness Center was running normal hours as well.
As of that October 17 update, owners and their guests could use every Seaside pavilion except Odessa and East Ruskin. Cabana Man is on normal hours. For the general public, Coleman Pavilion is the way down to the sand, and Seaside welcomes them there by reservation with a chair rental. Coleman sits between Pizza Bar and Bud & Alley's, so the public beach entrance lines up with the first block that reopened.
Elsewhere on 30A, the shoreline is taking longer than the storefronts. WJHG reported on October 17 that Walton County is considering emergency dune repairs, with a longer-term beach renourishment design already underway. Those repairs depend on county decisions, while the shops and restaurants in the square are already open.
All the late-October dates below are still listed on Seaside's official events calendar. It's worth checking that page the morning of each one, since post-storm schedules can change.
That first Saturday packs the Farmers Market and the Derby into the same morning hours, a few steps apart. Whoever is in the square at 9 a.m. on October 24 will find the weekly market and the annual Derby running side by side.
Starting in November, Sounds of Seaside shifts to 4 to 6 p.m. in the Amphitheater, an hour earlier than the October shows. The Wednesday lineup repeats a small group of performers, so a missed band usually comes around again within a few weeks:
| Date | Performer |
|---|---|
| Nov 4 | Max McCann |
| Nov 11 | Flow Tribe |
| Nov 18 | Roman Street |
| Nov 25 | BOUKOU GROOVE |
| Dec 2 | Roman Street |
| Dec 9 | Max McCann |
| Dec 16 | Fred Domulot |
| Dec 23 | Max McCann |
| Dec 30 | Flow Tribe |
Max McCann plays three of those nine Wednesdays, including the one two days before Christmas.
On Saturday, November 28, the season runs the full length of the town. The SEASIDE® Holiday Parade starts at 3 p.m. in Seagrove Plaza and travels down 30A to Central Square. Emerald Coast Theatre Company performs at Krier Plaza, and then everyone gathers in the Amphitheater for the Christmas tree lighting. Santa poses for photos in the Christmas Village until 8 p.m. All parade registration proceeds go to Point Washington Medical Clinic. Registration is linked from the Turn on the Town event page.
The parade route also lines up with how the storm recovery went. It ends at the square that opened first and finishes at the Amphitheater that has hosted the Farmers Market every Saturday since.
The SEASIDE® Holiday Market fills Central Square on Sunday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with local artisans and makers. The official calendar also lists a Holiday Show at the Post Office on December 4 and says more details are coming. Saturday Farmers Markets in the Amphitheater continue through December.
Runners can plan further ahead. The SEASIDE SCHOOL™ Half Marathon + 5K is set for February 14, 2027. Registration opened September 10, and the half-marathon fee goes from $130 to $135 after October 31. Details are on the race site.
From now through the end of the year, almost every listed event in Seaside takes place within a short walk of Bud & Alley's, one of the first restaurants back after the storm. Odessa and East Ruskin pavilions are the remaining gap. Everything on this calendar happens in the part of town that's already open.
If you own in Seaside and the storm has you thinking about the months ahead, The Holahan Group is glad to talk it through over coffee in the square, with no agenda beyond being good neighbors. When you're ready, Schedule a Consultation.
